Actually Best Friends is not attacking my organization in itself however they are allowing a woman who is angry at us because we would not allow her to adopt a feral cat, to make utterly false accusations and therefore allowing the slander of my very small organization and have cost me over 6 months of aggravation, costs of an attorney, and loss of business. I have been investigated by cruelty officers from 4 different counties, and the better business bureau, partly because of this womanâ??s ability to post these absolute lies on the Best friend site. The Better Business Bureau ruled in my favor as did the cruelty officers. I am currently under investigation by the PA State Board of Charitable Organizations and will pass their audit and inspection as well. Her lies can all be proven to be lies but on the Best Friends site I have been charged as guilty and must prove Cats with No Nameâ??s innocence. Once this is done I have a lawyer working on my case and we plan to sue the originator of this blog on the Best Friends website for slander and loss of business, and also are considering suing the Best Friends Organization for allowing their site to be used in this manner. I would definitely like to share notes and pass on my lawyerâ??s advice to help anyone in the same position. It has been established on numerous occasions in several states that you are liable for slander and or any other material posted on your site.
